About This Event

The Sirimon Route offers one of the most scenic and gradual approaches to Mount Kenya, guiding hikers through lush forests, expansive moorlands, and alpine landscapes before reaching Point Lenana at 4,985 meters. This trek is designed as the final challenge under Cushy Adventures’ Great Ascent Program, preparing hikers for the ultimate summit experience.
The Sirimon Route begins at the Sirimon Gate near Nanyuki and provides a steady ascent through diverse ecosystems. Hikers experience montane forests rich in biodiversity, valleys with panoramic views, and dramatic alpine terrain leading to Shipton’s Camp. The highlight is the sunrise summit at Point Lenana, a non-technical peak accessible to trekkers. With its gradual slopes, varied scenery, and quieter trails compared to other routes, Sirimon is the perfect choice for those seeking a rewarding and successful Mount Kenya summit. THE MOUNTAIN MENU All our food is fresh, and the meals are tasty, well-prepared, and served by our staff. Three-course meals with vegetables, fruit, salads, desserts, soups, popcorn, biscuits, and a complete range of beverages including herbal teas. We want you to enjoy your holiday on Mount Kenya, which means good food! Our cooks are all well experienced in Western tastes so expect as an example a soup starter with bread, tomato, and avocado side salad followed by chicken casserole with boiled potatoes and julienne carrots with a fresh fruit medley to finish with, and coffee and chocolate for supper. If you have dietary preferences then do write this to us after you make up your mind that you will be trekking with us, also inform Cushy Adventures staff after your arrival/briefing. Our cooks can easily cater to most preferences.
